Our section holds regular events monthly beginning in October and generally running through June. We take a haitus during the summer field season as many members are gone during this time. Events are either a section meetings or industry tours.
Regular section meetings are held on the UW Seattle Campus in the Ocean Sciences building, Room 425. A map for the building location can be found here. Topics are wide ranging including marine science, technology, engineering, ship building and maritime history (to name a few). Our meetings include a social hour and dinner prior to the meeting topic presentation.
Cost for the meetings (to cover food and beverages) are $20 for Society Members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students.
In lieu of a monthly meeting our section organizes tours of local marine companies and projects. Past tours have included new ship construction, instrument makers, machinery builders, and advanced fabrication houses. If your company would like to host a tour or meeting please contact our section Vice Chair Mike Einhorn.
